UP IAM has established a special research and project relationship with the Faculty of Mathematics, Science and Information Technology (UP FAMNIT). Associates of the UP FAMNIT do their research work (research projects and programs) under UP IAM.

UP FAMNIT closeness to UP IAM also allows directly involving students in research and development work in UP IAM. Currently involved in UP IAM are more than 20 students, conducting research, either as part of their study or preparing the final, bachelor or master's thesis or doctoral dissertation. 

Our goal is to enroll at least half of the students at master's and doctoral programs, and at least one-fifth of undergraduate students of Mathematics and Computer Science and Informatics.

Such a comprehensive approach to the integration between research and teaching work is a novelty in the Slovenian university area.
