Strengthening Research Cooperation with China
International cooperation is essential for collaboration between research and higher education institutions. Visits such as these strengthen partnership, cultivate exchange of knowledge, and create new opportunities for future joint research and academic exchange.

Last week, Prof. Klavdija Kutnar, Rector of the University of Primorska, Prof. Dragan Marušič, Vice-Rector's Advisor, and Prof. Aleksander Malnič from the Department of Mathematics at the UP FAMNIT and UP IAM visited Beijing Jiaotong University and Henan Normal University in China.
The visit focused on strengthening research collaboration with their Chinese colleagues and exploring approaches to several well-known open problems in mathematics. During their stay, they also delivered lectures for students, presenting their research and exchanging ideas.
As part of the visit, the Rector met with Miloš Prislan, Minister Counsellor and Head of the Visa and Consular Section at the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Beijing. Their discussion focused on the University of Primorska's cooperation with partner institutions in the region and future staffing needs. They also highlighted the importance of Chinese language proficiency and translation expertise, areas in which the University of Primorska continues to invest through the ongoing development of its study programmes and teaching practices.
