The programme of the LIFE Be-WoodEN final conference is now published and registration open
The programme of the final LIFE Be-WoodEN project conference, titled “Tackling embodied carbon through wooden construction. The role of bio-based materials and the New European Bauhaus in building greener futures”, has now been published. The event will be held on 3 December 2025, in Brussels (Salle de Guichet, BIP Meeting Centre, Rue Royale 2–4) and online, as part of the Decarbonisation Summit programme, organised by Housing Europe and held 3-4 December 2025 at the BIP Meeting Centre.
The conference will highlight how the LIFE Be-WoodEN project promotes the use of wood and other natural materials in developing sustainable solutions in the construction sector, in line with the principles of the New European Bauhaus. Participants will learn about practical examples, including the co-design of shared spaces in social housing in Liguria. They will also have the opportunity to visit an exhibition and attend the award ceremony for the best project.
Dr. Andreja Kutnar will be the moderator of the conference and chair of the opening session. Additionally she will present the NEB Academy Alliance, coordinated by the University of Primorska and outline its key activities in advancing education for sustainable construction across Europe.
The LIFE Be-WoodEN project encourages the use of wood and bio-based materials to reduce the environmental impact of construction and increase sustainability in the building sector. Project partners are developing new learning approaches, strengthening professional knowledge and exploring solutions for modern, environmentally friendly living.
