(SI) V okviru raziskovalnega programa sodelujoči raziskovalci z dveh univerz in enega razvojnega tehnološkega podjetja izvajajo temeljne in aplikativne raziskave izbranih vsebin s področja metrologije, ki vključujejo samodejne analize in modeliranja iz biometričnih, akustičnih in magnetnih merilnih in drugih senzorskih podatkov za potrebe razvoja tehnoloških sistemov za podporo pri varovanju ljudi in njihovega zdravja ter zagotavljanju varnega bivalnega okolja. Glede na področje uporabe in vrsto uporabljenih ali razvitih senzorskih in merilnih naprav so raziskave ter uporaba rezultatov in izobraževanje usmerjeni v štiri glavne smeri, in sicer: biometrična merjenja in modeliranje, meritve in modeliranje zdravstvenega stanja, akustična merjenja in modeliranje govora ter magnetna merjenja in modeliranje.Temeljne raziskave so usmerjene v iskanje novih možnosti izrabe obstoječih merilnih in senzorskih naprav za razvoj različnih biometričnih sistemov za samodejno zaznavanje in razpoznavanje ljudi in njihovih psiho-fizičnih stanj ter sistemov za dolgoročno spremljanje in modeliranje zdravstvenega stanja ljudi in njihovega okolja iz pridobljenih senzorskih in merilnih podatkov. Razvoj teh postopkov temelji na uporabi sodobnih metod strojnega učenja in samodejnega razpoznavanja vzorcev. Del raziskav je usmerjen tudi v razvoj novih merilnih naprav in senzorjev, primernih za omenjena področja uporabe.
(EN) Within the research programme researchers from two universities and one technology-oriented SME perform fundamental and applied research on selected topics in the field of metrology. These topics include automatic analysis and modelling of biometric, acoustic, magnetic and other types of sensory data with the goal of developing a new generation of technological systems for the protection of people and their health as well as ensuring a safe living environment. Depending on the target application domain and the type of sensory and measuring devices used, the activities of the research programme are focused on four main areas, i.e.: biometric measurements and modelling, personal health monitoring and modelling, acoustic measurements and speech modelling and magnetic measurements and modelling.The fundamental research conducted within the programme is aimed at finding new opportunities for the use of existing measuring and sensory devices in the development of various biometric systems for automatic detection and identification of people and systems for long-term monitoring and modelling of the health statuses of people and their environment from the acquired sensory and measurement data. The development of these procedures is based on the use of state of the art methods for machine learning and automatic pattern recognition. Part of the research is focused on the development of new measuring devices and sensors suitable for these application areas.
