Opis

Description

- 4. proučevati viskoelastično obnašanje zgoščenega lesa z dinamično analizo mehanskih lastnosti (dynamic mechanical analysis, DMA) Predlagani projekt bo izveden v sodelovanju z Oregon State University (ZDA), Aalto University (Finska) in EMPA (Švica). Proučevani lesni vrsti lesa bosta najpomembnejši slovenski iglavec in listavec, smrekovina in bukovina. Na obeh preučevanih lesnih vzorcih bomo uporabili tri različne stopnje zgostitve. Pričakovani rezultati predlaganega projekta bodo prispevali k skupnim prizadevanjem znanosti o lesu k razumevanju obnašanja zgoščenega lesa.
(EN) Climate change and its catastrophic consequences are driving the drive towards sustainable development, where the key is to increase environmental responsibility or protection, increase economic efficiency and improve people's social security. Wood as a renewable material, or its versatile use, is therefore gaining in importance. One environmentally friendly method of modifying wood is the use of heat, moisture and mechanical force, known as thermo-hydro mechanical (THM) treatments. The general objective of the proposed project is to better understand the properties of this "new" material, densified wood, while the primary objective of the proposed project is to investigate the time-dependent behaviour of densified wood under bending load at different temperatures and humidities, with the following specific objectives: - 1. To investigate the relationship between creep strain and density of densified wood - 2. To develop a model to predict the time-dependent behaviour of densified wood - 3. To determine the time-dependent behaviour of multilayer composites made of densified wood - 4. To study the viscoelastic behaviour of densified wood by dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) The proposed project will be carried out in collaboration with Oregon State University (USA), Aalto University (Finland) and EMPA (Switzerland). The timber species to be studied will be the most important Slovenian coniferous and deciduous woods, spruce and beech. Three different levels of densification will be applied to the two studied wood samples. The expected results of the proposed project will contribute to the joint efforts of wood science to understand the behaviour of densified wood.
